It's been a little bit since I've written a post (less than a week since the last went up but I wrote those last three in advance) so I thought I'd do a little update on what I'm doing before marathon training. The biggest thing is I got married! We had a gorgeous ceremony at a winery in central Minnesota and it was the best day ever. It also feels great to not be planning a wedding anymore and now we get to just live our life as a family of three. I cannot wait to look back and see the photos, it seemed to go by in a flash even though we tried to be in the moment during it.
I've been keeping up with working out on a regular basis, although I haven't had a set schedule. Since it's only three weeks between my half and marathon training starting, I didn't really want to write a plan for that short of time. When I have more time between a race and the beginning of a new training cycle, I plan out a regular schedule since I work better that way. So, I've been loosey goosey with my workouts for the past couple of months.
I've gotten five runs in, with the longest being 5 miles. They've been feeling pretty good but I haven't been focusing on foam rolling afterwards as much. And it makes a huge difference so I'm trying to get back on track with that. Besides running, I've been on the elliptical and doing the strength training routine I wrote up for marathon training. I really am enjoying the plan I wrote up and will be sharing it later when I talk about my plans for marathon training.
For the next week, I'm going to keep on getting a little bit of everything in for my workouts. I'm hoping to get a couple of 6+ mile runs in this weekend and three or four shorter runs in as well. And then, marathon training begins May 29th (with a strength training day)!
