For week four of training tips Tuesday (and Eau Claire Marathon training), I wanted to talk a little bit about dynamic warm ups! I was doing a dynamic warm up before every run during Twin Cities Marathon training but I hadn’t been doing it regularly in this training cycle.
Until this week and boy does it feel better not running on cold legs! Especially for my pace run on Saturday, I felt like I could get up to speed quicker. Plus I feel much better after my run and I’m not feeling as many tight spots when I’m foam rolling.
My warm up routine isn’t too long since it’s still chilly outside but here’s what I’ve been doing:
10 leg swings per side
10 lunges per side
High knees and/or buttkicks
