A good pair of gloves or mittens is key in Minnesota, especially with the winter we’ve been having. Feels like temperatures of -20 or colder that are continuing into March, over 30 inches of snow just in February. But for the first part of 2019, I was dealing with cold fingers even when I doubled up on gloves. Until I got my Turtle Gloves Turtle-Flip Mittens in the mai!.
So what are Turtle-Flip Mittens? They are mittens that make it easy to go from mittens to fingerless gloves to arm sleeves and even all the way down to wrist warmers (although I haven’t gotten a chance to those last two out yet). All while on the go without fumbling around with buttons or clasps. Perfect for when my hands start heating up on the run since I don’t need to stop running to switch them to fingerless gloves.
But the thing I’ve been loving about them this winter is how warm they are without being bulky! I have the midweight winter gloves (in their limited edition BibRave orange of course!) which are recommended down to 25F. But they’ve been keeping my hands warm even on sub-zero mornings walking the dog (but being pregnant might be contributing to this so your mileage may vary). All that warmth but no bulk, even when I fold them down to fingerless gloves which makes them perfect for running!
Another thing I’ve been loving in this cold, snowy winter is the Turtle-Flip Mittens are extra long so I don’t have to worry about the skin between my coat and gloves getting exposed. Plus it is another layer over my running watch to keep the battery life going a little bit longer during the couple of runs I’ve been able to get outside for!
