Heading into race week and tapering a little before Hot Chocolate 15K Minneapolis! It felt good to do a full training cycle, experiencing the up and downs of it, while knowing I still feel good enough to run consistently. Let’s get into it!
Monday, April 8
Weights and cardio at the gym as I let my body recover before the Hot Chocolate 15K on Saturday! Also, I'm super excited to try out resistance bands for my strength training next week. The JCC has an awesome area that includes these bars to wrap resistance bands for single arm or leg movements. Send me your favorite resistance band workouts!
Tuesday, April 9
3 miles ~ 34:57 ~ 11:38 min/mile
It's taper week for Hot Chocolate 15K Minneapolis and my legs are feeling it! But someone was impatient for a run, I had two kicks while I sat in the car getting my ROADiD app and audiobook set up 😂
One last run outside before some interesting weather comes through but at least no snow coming on race day.
Wednesday, April 10
2 miles ~ 22:49 ~ 11:23 min/mile
Just two miles on the treadmill today (thanks to the April snowstorm). I was hoping to get in a quick weights workout after but as soon as I picked up the weights I knew I was too exhausted.
Instead, I got in my #NuubieChallenge walking lunges and some extra stretching!
Thursday, April 11
No workout today and I didn’t even hit 10K steps. We had Mike’s grandma’s funeral and spent the day with family instead (and cuddling with Vinnie at night).

All ready for my first Hot Chocolate 15K tomorrow morning in Minneapolis and my second race while pregnant!
Saturday, April 13
9.41 miles ~ 1:47:50 ~ 11:27 min/mile
First 15K done! I loved theHot Chocolate 15K Minneapolis course (one of my favorite areas to run) and even with the snow it was still gorgeous. Check out my full race report!
Sunday, April 14
Just a nice easy recovery day at the gym with the elliptical and foam rolling (plus a massage later in the day). I’m pretty worn out still from the race (and waking up every couple of hours) but overall feeling pretty good!
