What I Read: Winter and Spring 2019

2019 has been so busy, I never did a round up of what I read over the winter! So today I’m sharing my favorite reads so far in 2019.

In An Absent Dream by Seanan McGuire

I read through the first three books in this series at the beginning of 2018...and then had to wait an entire year for the next book to come out. It’s such a good series though and worth the wait (which is good because book five comes out January 2020)!

China Rich Girlfriend and Rich People Problems by Kevin Kwan

I loved both the book and movie Crazy Rich Asians so of course I put myself on the waiting lists for the rest of the series. Which took forever to get (and I could only have them for 21 days because there were other holds on them) but luckily I quickly read through both of them before they were due.

My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh

This is not my normal reading but I got drawn into the story once I started listening to it. I can’t explain it but I just wanted to know what happened as the narrator continued her downward spiral.

The Nightingale by  Kristin Hannah

Normally with historical fiction, I read those based in Tudor/Medieval English. But this is my second World Wars-era novel that I’ve read and I loved them. It took me a little bit to get into the story but I was captivated by the story of French Resistance during the Nazi occupat
