Finishing off May and starting June with the summer heat! My weekday runs got cut back a little because two miles felt like the sweet spot after work (especially with my legs swelling on Thursday from the heat) but I did get in an extra round of kettlebells since Monday was a holiday. Let’s get into it!

Monday, May 27

Morning workout with Mike at the gym since we had the day off! I did four rounds of my kettlebell workout today and then walked on the treadmill for 45 minutes.

I could tell the difference working out in the morning versus the afternoon made though, I had some Braxton hicks contractions at the very end since I wasn't as hydrated. At least they stopped once I sat down and finished off my water, just a reminder that I need to drink more before morning workouts.

Tuesday, May 28

2 miles ~ 24:05 ~ 11:59 min/mile

Trying not to say I "just" ran two miles today because I got to run. As I get further into pregnancy, I need to make sure I'm not pushing myself to the point of being of uncomfortable and today that meant running two instead of three miles (plus getting in extra stretching time). And that doesn't mean I'm any less of a runner than when I was marathon training!

Wednesday, May 29

I forgot my tablet at home so instead of reading my e-book on the elliptical, I listened to an audiobook on the spin bike. Thank goodness for libraries!

Thursday, May 30

2 miles ~ 24:07 ~ 11:59 min/mile

Two miles to complete day 30 of the BibRave Run Streak!

So glad the gym has an indoor track so I'm not stuck on the treadmill on hot days. It might be 19 laps to finish a mile but at least it's better than the treadmill!

Friday, May 31

Getting a taste of how the rest of the summer is going to feel. High of almost 90 today and baby boy will only be getting bigger over the next 10-ish weeks. But I finished off my BibRave Run Streak with a mile walk over lunch and did some yoga at home to stretch out before having some iced coffee and reading.

Saturday, June 1

3 miles ~ 34:38 ~ 11:30 min/mile

Three miles along the river and running felt so much better with cooler weather! I was pretty worn out by the end of the day though, especially since we saw Dear Evan Hanson and I didn’t nap at all.

Sunday, June 2

4 miles ~ 48:05 ~ 11:59 min/mile

Neon shirt to match the sunny day! I heard all the birds this morning thanks to my AfterShokzTrekz Airs and smelt all the lilacs blooming along my route.
